Submission of an entry indicates acceptance of these conditions .....
Entries must be in English.
Entries must be no more than 800 words in length.
Entrants can only enter individually. Only one entry per person is permitted and the story must be wholly written by the entrant alone; stories cannot be written by more than one person.
Entries must be an original piece of fiction (not an account of real events). Of course, your entry can feature well known public figures from present day or from history and/or take place in historical eras or use real-life experiences as a creative springboard ... as long as the story is FICTIONAL.
Entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The competition organisers can accept no responsibility if entrants ignore these rules. By entering the competition you agree to indemnify the organisers against any claim by any third party for any breach of these rules relating to your submission.
Entries must not contain defamatory, offensive, obscene or any other unsuitable material. They must be suitable to be published in The DSM Magazine which has an audience of all ages.
Entrants retain the copyright in their entries but they grant to The DSM a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish (across all media) and post the entry online and on any other platforms yet to be envisaged. This licence will be deemed to include all the necessary rights and permissions to enable such use by The DSM to complete the administration of this competition.
Entries must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org as an MS Word, RTF, OTF or PDF format. If you are unsure about formatting your entry please contact The DSM (well ahead of the deadline).
Competition entry is now open and closes at 6pm (CET) on Saturday 31st December 2022.
Judges decisions are final. Winners will be notified by email. A list of winners will be available on request.
